Overview

Whited.life’s refund and return policy lasts 30 days—a timeframe that balances your flexibility to inspect camping gear with our need to maintain resellable inventory. If 30 days have passed since your purchase, we cannot offer a full refund or exchange.
To be eligible for a return, your camping item must be unused, in the same condition you received it, and in its original packaging. For example, tents must remain unopened (or repackaged neatly if opened but unused), sleeping bags should have all tags attached, and tools (like folding knives or compasses) must be free of scratches or wear.
Several types of camping-related goods are exempt from being returned, as they cannot be safely or hygienically resold:
  • Personal use gear with hygiene components: Items like sleeping bag liners (if removed from sealed packaging) or padded hiking pole straps (if used).
  • Hazardous or flammable camping supplies: Products such as fuel canisters, fire starters, or propane accessories (due to safety regulations).

Additional Non-Returnable Items

  • Gift cards for whited.life purchases
  • Downloadable camping resources (e.g., digital trail maps or gear setup guides)
  • Custom-engraved items (e.g., personalized multi-tools or compass tags)
To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase (e.g., order confirmation email or packing slip). Please do not send your camping gear back to the manufacturer—all returns must be sent directly to our Whited.life address.

Partial Refunds

Partial refunds are granted only in specific scenarios related to camping gear condition:
  1. Camping gear with obvious signs of use (e.g., tents with dirt on the floor, sleeping bags with debris, or hiking poles with scuff marks from trails).
  2. Opened consumable camping supplies (e.g., pre-sealed fire starter packs or water purification tablets).
  3. Any item not in its original condition, damaged, or missing parts (e.g., a tent missing stakes, a multi-tool missing a screwdriver head) for reasons not due to our shipping error.
  4. Items returned more than 30 days after delivery.

Refund Process

  1. Once your returned camping gear is received and inspected at our facility, we will send you an email to confirm receipt of the item.
  2. We will then notify you via email whether your refund is approved or rejected (e.g., rejected if the item is used or outside the 30-day window).
  3. If approved, your refund will be processed within 5–7 business days. A credit will automatically be applied to your original payment method (credit card, debit card, or digital wallet).

Late or Missing Refunds

If you haven’t received your refund after the processing period:
  1. First, check your bank account or payment app—some financial institutions take 3–5 extra days to post refunds.
  2. Contact your credit card company or bank to inquire about pending transactions (refunds often show as “pending” before being fully posted).
  3. If you’ve completed these steps and still haven’t received your refund, please contact us at travel@whited.life with your order number and refund request details.

Sale Items

Only regular-priced camping products may be refunded. Sale items (e.g., discounted tents, clearance sleeping pads, or limited-time tool sets marked “Final Sale”) cannot be refunded or exchanged.

Exchanges

We only replace camping items if they are defective or damaged (e.g., a tent with a torn rainfly, a sleeping pad with a leak, or a compass with a broken dial) and the issue is not due to user error. To request an exchange for the same item:
  1. Send an email to travel@whited.life with your order number, photos of the defective/damaged item, and a brief description of the issue.

Gifts

  • If the camping gear was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a whited.life gift credit for the item’s value once we process the return. A digital gift certificate will be emailed to you within 3 business days of receiving the returned item.
  • If the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves first (to hand-deliver later), we will send the refund to the gift giver’s original payment method. The gift giver will be notified of the return via email.

Shipping Returns

To return your camping product:
  1. Mail the item to our return address (listed above in the “Exchanges” section).
  2. You are responsible for covering return shipping costs. These costs are non-refundable—if your refund is approved, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund amount.
  3. For high-value items (e.g., premium tents or multi-tool sets), we recommend using a trackable shipping service (e.g., USPS Priority Mail with tracking) or purchasing shipping insurance. Whited.life cannot guarantee we will receive items sent without tracking.
